(N by Norwegian) Scarlet and mustard peaks, impossibly blue skies: the wine region of Jujuy may be small, but it has some of the highest – and most stunning – vineyards in the world. At more than 2,300 metres above sea level (masl), the area certainly leaves you breathless but my overriding memories of a recent trip aren’t of the altitude or even the beauty but of the human kindness I encountered, often in the humblest of circumstances.
