One recent addition to Miraflores’ exciting dining scene that is already home to Central, Maido, La Mar and Amaz is IK. A family-led restaurant and the legacy of late founding chef Ivan Kisic, the concept is market fresh across the board – as the dining experience is akin to being inside a vegetable box. Lush native foliage and wooden slats set the ambience, while chef Mónica Kisic’s contemporary tasting menu is receiving waves of approval – presenting local ingredients such as guinea pig and suckling pig as well as lúcuma and lulo fruits rarely sampled in Western dishes, besides all manner of seafood, textures and flavours that meet to give tastebuds a substantial workout. Named Peru’s best new restaurant in August by the prestigious Summum awards, IK is one to watch.
