K-Food Fest in Buenos Aires

K-FOOD: Did you know Koreans say ‘kimchi’ when taking a photo?

KFood
Belen Jung from BAB Cocina Coreana shared that little gem as she took a snapshot of our table last night.

Another K-Food (hansik) factoid is that Kimchi – fermented veggies vamped up with spices and served as a side – is also a Unesco “intangible cultural heritage item.”

Given that the Korean community celebrates 50 years of migration to Argentina this year, the embassy is hosting Buenos Aires’ latest eat-xtravaganza, flying in chef Jong Hun Lee from Seoul’s Sheraton especially for the occasion.

I loved the napa pork wrap and braised short ribs. Also expect Samgye Tang chicken and ginseng soup as well as Bibibap – don;t forget to mix all the rice, veg, meat and agg up together and eat it with a spoon. This is a buffet affair AKA go hungry. You’ll also be able to sup Soju Jinro cocktails made with fresh lime juice.

Until Sunday at the Sheraton. Tel: 011 4318-9000.

Ph: Kimchi, pine nut porridge, noodles in radish water.
